Crafts Council UK    [ brand system ]   [ web design ]
2025

The Crafts Council is the UK’s main organization for supporting crafts and makers. The rebrand shows how contemporary artists build on traditional craftsmanship, preserving its tactile and material qualities while bringing them into a modern context.

[ concept ]The identity system draws from the way artists and makers build work through geometric grids and repeated patterns. This idea appears directly in the logo, where two grid-based “C” forms overlap to create a single, unified mark.

[ idetity system ]The digital platform uses a flexible grid to frame and present artworks. This structure brings different craft disciplines into a shared space, highlighting how diverse practices come together as a community. It also introduces a global approach and resources that support makers and artists in expanding their practice.

[ print applications ]The identity extends into print through brochures, postcards, and promotional materials for Collect Art Fair, an annual event held by Crafts Council UK. The grid also becomes a graphic language, adding pattern, texture, and rhythm while keeping the system connected to the digital platform.

As someone who usually works in print, this was my first time approaching an identity system from a web-based starting point. The process taught me how to carry a digital visual language into print, maintaining consistency across both environments.
